Buying A New Home Theater HD Projector
Today, the word digital appears on billboards, magazine adds, television commercials and in so many other locations that we would be hard pressed to go a day without some sort of point of reference to the word. Immense change has been made in the last twenty years regarding digital knowledge, especially the technologies that pertain to home theaters. Not too long ago, a home theater system was thought of as good if you had a large, grainy television and a decent stereo surround sound system. But, with the advent of better digital technologies, home theaters have become both more complex and more expensive.
A lot has altered over the years since home theater LCD projectors first were available to the main consumers. In the beginning, the large size coupled with the soaring cost of a projector were unrealistic for all but the highly wealthy. Universities and sizable companies were among the first users. With today’s technology, small, inexpensive projectors are easily within reach of the general public.
When thinking of which multimedia projector to acquire, you must first decide the location it will be best suited. You’ll need to research one that suits the size of your room effectively and will project an appropriately sized picture to the screen or wall. Once that is taken care of, you must decide on a place for the projector, which may entail mounting to the ceiling or simply placing it on a table.
Brightness is an important requirement that differs greatly in certain models. A 1,000 lumen projector would be bright enough for a space without windows or natural light. However, if there are windows that carry in natural light, or you need to have the lights on, you’ll want at least 1500 lumens, and the general important thing is that more is better.
On picture clarity, the resolution size is what defines how crisp the image will be, and there are several resolutions available for home projectors, which are denoted by a number proportion of pixel by pixel. Currently, 800×600, also known as SVGA is the lowest resolution acquirable. This resolution will be adequate for smaller picture sizes, but allotting the money on a greater resolution would be a wise investment. Other resolutions include XGA (1024×768), WXGA (1280×768), SXGA (1400X1050), 720P (1280X720), 1080P (1920X1080) AND 1080I. As far as high definition resolutions are interested, none even warrant being equated to to the revered 1080P. Though 1080i was thought to be the best for an extended period of time, 1080p has now replaced it as the best possible resolution for a home theater projector. 1080 refers to how many lines of resolution there are.
As opposed to years past, when household theater DLP projectors would cost you a small fortune, currently there are many inexpensive projectors available. In some examples, $1500 will raise your movie watching experience to the next level. As soon as you have decided upon your home theater projector, there is still much more work to be completed. To create the quintessential home theater experience, you will need a quality audio system and, of course, the most comfortable of comfortable chairs.
