Panasonic TC-P42S30 – AMAZING TV, Better Than ANY LCD And Also LED Or Other Plasma!!
Like many people, I wasn’t sure if I should go with Plasma, or LED or LCD. My priority was how does the picture check with standard definition channels. My first TV I got was basically the LG 42″ LED HDTV and had a situation with an HDMI input so I brought it back they usually had no more left in stock so my 2nd TV I bought was a 40″ Samsung 120hz LCD HDTV that has been absolute garbage since I couldn’t change the aspect ratio over the Panasonic TC-P42S30 or cable box to display the television as full instead of a 30″ screen with black stripes on the side.
So finally I did a extra research, didn’t listen to all these “so-called” experts at Stores and find another LCD/LED TV and bit the particular bullet and got a plasma. I figured I’d go with the top producing plasma maker that can be purchased, that being Panasonic. And am I ever glad Used to do, this TV has it all. Amazing picture, great sound, great standard distinction display, great high def display, slick design, internet ready with radio gain access to and facebook access, user friendly dishes, anti glare screen, and it can be thinner than most plasma’s.
I will never buy another LED/LCD TV, always going plasma, waaaaaay better.
The TC-P42S30 happens to be great so far. I think feature for feature its one of the best deal out there right now on a 1080p 42″ TV with networking and IPTV capabilities.
Picture – Broke the tv in for about a week. Picture is really nice in a dark or badly lit room. When the sun is out or light causes it to through the windows, the glass glare is definitely noticeable. A little worse than about normal LCD TVs. The dynamic purity brightness adjust works ok. Sometimes its 1 or 2 ranges too dark for my eyes and makes me have to manually adjust the brightness up your notch. But in a dark room the detail is excellent.
Sound – factory equipped speakers really are adequate. No RCA sound out, however has HDMI ARC and optical released.
Build Quality. From behind the TV i’ll hear a slight humming noise. I hear this is common with plasmas since they’re typically hotter than LCD and need a fan to help cool the internals. Its not noticeable coming from a few feet away. The stand feels solid but it will not swivel or angle up and downward. The TV is a little heavy at 40 lbs. I think its some form of level of Energy Star certified. A ton of the newer TVs are energy movie star 3 or 4 rated and use under 100watts.
EASY IPTV- i’ve only chosen Netfliks and Facebook. They take slightly longer than i might have wanted to load up. Though once up they work great. Netfliks has stopped every once as well as a while to adjust quality setting just for better streaming. No subtitles through Netfliks is often a bummer. I’m connected through a wires connection to the router.
DLNA – I use Mezzmo media server while using Viera (non divx) profile. 100% involving my media plays. However subtitles throughout. srt format do not play. Tough to watch foreign films this way.
Overall, im very happy with this TV.
