Best Tips in Screening Your Film

You are now done with your very first film and it is now ready to be put under advance movie screening. There are a few things that you should remember in making your film ready to make a good impression.

1. Know your audience- Make sure that you are able to identify your target audience. This will also help you promote your movie and be able to sell a good number of DVDs. You can either choose a group or a charity institution that is related to your film to help you in making you movie famous.

2. Choose the screening site-Make everything work for your advantage. Having a movie theater as venue for your movie screening seemed to be the most logical thing to do but make sure that you can fill the large area. If not try considering a few apartment complexes where you can have big screening rooms to view your film and be able to interact with a small group that will view your movie.

3. Set the date- As the director of the film it is your privilege to select when and where the location of the first movie screening of your film. And on this tip you must make sure that your screening doesn’t fall on holidays or in time for any local events.

4. Prepare for screening details- plan out a good program that will feature your film to be presented. Thinking about adding something like a few digital shorts before that you film.

5. Organize a list to guide you- Remember to try to write everything down into paper this will prevent any missing equipment or not prepared programs just to be prepared.

6. Give out Evaluation forms or try to receive feedback- to help you improve your craft and they will also help you promote your first movie.

7. Promote- try to have news releases and just spread the good news that you film is about to be view at a specific venue. A good promotion will determine the size of the crowd that will join in. A good promotion is all your film needs to be able to gain success in your first film.

8. Check the venue and everything a day before the event- You have to check everything if they are going according to plan. Make sure everything is in order and there will be no excuses of not being able to make the advance screening happens.

9. Screening documentation- Try to have somebody taking pictures and others videotaping the event. And then try to ask your guest to sign in your guest list usually at the entrance. It is important that you should have a lot of photographers to capture every moment with viewers.

10. Follow up- lastly and most important of all is you try to follow up send some thank you notes showing that you appreciate all the people who watched. This will create a close group of people who may contribute in promoting the film.
