Outdoor LCD TV enclosure for home cinemas in the garden
Some of us are considering installing an outdoor home cinema in our gardens as an alternative to a vacation this year. Learn the easy way how this can be achieved for a cheap price.
One of the first things to consider is the location of the screen, this can be an old plasma or LCD display, that will be put outside, this is far more cost effective then buying a dedicated outdoor TV as these ran run in excess of $5000 alone!
The most ideal spot for an outdoor LCD TV is in a partially shaded area as you do not want to cook under the sun while watching the game in your back yard. Ensuring that there is a strong wall to mount the TV to it.
An LCD enclosure is recommended in areas that have variable weather conditions such as high summer temperatures and sub zero winter temperatures, these LCD enclosures protect the screen inside form freezing and over heating in the extreme temperatures, lengthening the life of the screen outdoors. These protective LCD enclosures provide protection form accidental damage from the children playing ball games in the back yard, to even opportunist thieves, due to the added security they provide.
Once the location has been decided on, you need to run a conduit from the house to the TV location, then feed both power and the aerial cable through the conduit, this will protect the cables from being cut when you are doing any gardening, preventing any electrocution issues in the future.
Now you may also want to consider building a purpose build seating area so that when you have family and friends over to watch the Super-bowl you can all enjoy it as well as being the envy of your neighbours.
You may also want to consider installing a set of external speakers to the LCD or plasma screen, they will provide a home theatre effect to your outdoor TV solution and some people have even installed surround sound speaker systems outdoors.
If you are not going on vacation this year, this is one way you can spend more time with the family and friends whilst saving you money and unlike a vacation that seems to vanish on your return to work, this will last for many years to come. Enabling you to chill and kick back when ever you wish.
